Boys learn fashion concepts at an early age, in the very same way that girls do, so why does it seem that they are not treated equally when it comes to fashionable items?
- Child’s fashion designers often gear their brands towards creating products for girls.
- Boys play too rough, seems to be the reason that most people give for not purchasing fashionable items for boys. This is just an excuse.
- Boys fashions are not readily available and you often have to look hard to find them.
I found these really cool jeans for boys on Skip to my Lou, the scorpion coming out from the pocket, adds the perfect touch.
When it comes to designer fashion, quality is the most important part of the design, therefore, they should be made from durable fabrics that will outlast cheaper knock off versions and rough and tumble boys.
If you dress your children with a keen fashion sense when they are young, they will grow to have an appreciation for it, and most likely this will follow through until they reach adulthood.
There is a saying, “There is nothing more appealing than a well dressed man.“
Well dressed men stand out from the crowd, because there are so few men who actually take the time to do this. Why do you think that is? Perhaps it might be from the attitude about fashion children receive growing up?
How perfect is this matching t-shirt from A little bit of cheek? Any young man would be a fashion guru wearing this!
How can you change your attitude so your child will grow up to appreciate style?
You can begin by dressing your children in fashionable clothing and teaching them the importance of taking care of themselves. We often forget that boys need to be taught proper grooming techniques. Why not have a family grooming day or personal hygiene day to talk about these things?
Tip: Always make it a routine to get your child’s hair cut and keep regular dental check ups. This will help to plant the seeds of proper grooming. Encourage children to take time each night to brush hair, teeth, take a bath and do all the things that they should be doing to pamper themselves.
Side note, taking care of yourself also helps to reduce stress and this is important for maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Attitudes towards personal health and grooming start at a young age and is carried with the child throughout his or her lifetime, you may want to rethink things.
Sometimes life and fashion involves a simple change of attitude to make all the difference.

Add this Sudo Jacket from SkipToMyLou to the items seen above and you have the perfect inside/outside designer fashion ensemble, see how easy that was?

It does not matter whether you are talking about clothing, jewelry or accessories, every designer will tell you that the best children’s fashions are created with classic designs, because they will withstand the test of time. Trends come and go, but classic designs have always been trendy. Black patent leather shoes are always the best choice in kids shoes when it comes to dressing up for a family outing and no design is better than Czarque hand made shoes because they are comfortable. How do designers define a classic children’s fashion piece? A classic piece refers to anything that is … Continue reading

pink and blue and everything new

I decided that since I recently did an article for girls and boys special things, it only seemed fair to find some great things just for the wee bubs. The first things that caught my eye were these gorgeous cross strap baby sandals from Design Child. I like both the striped pattern and the way the sandal straps cross over one another. They say”baby design chic,” with a capital C. When I see items like these sandals, I get extremely excited, because I just keep hoping that some day I will be buying these kind of things for my own grand … Continue reading

To prove that I was not biased toward boys and girls, I once bought my son a popular barbie doll. He loved watching the show and I thought I was being quite liberal about it. In my head, I kept thinking that Gem is a rock singer in a popular animated television series and she was anything but “girlish, ” so this might actually be a good idea for him. Gem Animated series photo by: www.nicedaydesigns.org A short while after he got the doll, I went into his room and saw that he was using Gem as a hostage in … Continue reading

Easter bonnets are one of the easiest craft projects that you can do with your children over the holiday period. The hats base can be made from just about anything, including pie plates, paper, cardboard and an old felt or straw hat. The idea is to decorate the base with flowers, ribbons, eggs and other colourful adornments to make beautiful Easter hat creations, like the one in the picture below. Photo: pointytoeshoecrew Remember an Easter hat does not have to be as outlandish as the one above, a few ribbons and flowers will suffice. Its design depends on how your … Continue reading

You do not even need to know the date, you just have to see an ocean of green attire around you, as you walk down the street, to know that St. Patrick’s day has finally arrived. Children of all ages can be seen sporting goofy goggles, silly hats and silky green ribbons as they march down the street to the beat of Celtic music. This is the way St. Patrick’s day has been celebrated for hundreds of years. In countries across the world, St. Patrick’s day is celebrated with a parade to honor the Irish Culture and Heritage. While it … Continue reading

That moment is etched in my mind like it happened yesterday, it was my first communion party, it was over thirty years ago and I remember that I had just finished cutting the cake. The cake resembled the open pages of a bible, it was decorated with roses and a huge amount of communion hosts. I remember being so proud, mum let me cut the cake by myself, she said I was bigger now. It was a huge knife and I remembered trying to be very careful not to cut myself or anyone else with it. After we ate the … Continue reading

When I was an early childhood educator, many years ago, one of the things I learned quickly was that when it comes to children, adequate storage is a number one priority. The same is true for a well organized household. If you make storage areas hard for your child to reach to understand, you will be forever picking up and arranging toys, clothes or other children’s items. A well organized home is a better and more stable environment for raising a child. Children will mess it throughout the day and this is normal, they need to play. While we do … Continue reading

super duper wall decors

Babies grow so fast, it seems that no matter what items we purchase for them, it is almost surely going to be a waste of money, unless of course, the parent plans on having future babies. Newer models of big purchase items such as, beds and changing tables, are designed to be converted from baby furniture to children’s furniture. What happens to the decor of the room when everything in it was designed for a newborn? You have to create an entirely new design once the child grows. This can be a tedious job if you have painted designs, wall … Continue reading

who knew tape was cool

I often receive email about new and exciting children’s product from Kids Product directory retailers and when I see something unique, I feel compelled to share it our readers. While the following idea is based on an old design, I love the concept behind the idea. I thought it might be easier to show you in pictures rather than in words. Can you see the unique room design patterns? Do you know how they are made? There is a clue to how these designs were created on the child’s easel. Can you spot it? Here is a hint. Yes it … Continue reading
