Boys learn fashion concepts at an early age, in the very same way that girls do, so why does it seem that they are not treated equally when it comes to fashionable items?
- Child’s fashion designers often gear their brands towards creating products for girls.
- Boys play too rough, seems to be the reason that most people give for not purchasing fashionable items for boys. This is just an excuse.
- Boys fashions are not readily available and you often have to look hard to find them.
I found these really cool jeans for boys on Skip to my Lou, the scorpion coming out from the pocket, adds the perfect touch.
When it comes to designer fashion, quality is the most important part of the design, therefore, they should be made from durable fabrics that will outlast cheaper knock off versions and rough and tumble boys.
If you dress your children with a keen fashion sense when they are young, they will grow to have an appreciation for it, and most likely this will follow through until they reach adulthood.
There is a saying, “There is nothing more appealing than a well dressed man.“
Well dressed men stand out from the crowd, because there are so few men who actually take the time to do this. Why do you think that is? Perhaps it might be from the attitude about fashion children receive growing up?
How perfect is this matching t-shirt from A little bit of cheek? Any young man would be a fashion guru wearing this!
How can you change your attitude so your child will grow up to appreciate style?
You can begin by dressing your children in fashionable clothing and teaching them the importance of taking care of themselves. We often forget that boys need to be taught proper grooming techniques. Why not have a family grooming day or personal hygiene day to talk about these things?
Tip: Always make it a routine to get your child’s hair cut and keep regular dental check ups. This will help to plant the seeds of proper grooming. Encourage children to take time each night to brush hair, teeth, take a bath and do all the things that they should be doing to pamper themselves.
Side note, taking care of yourself also helps to reduce stress and this is important for maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Attitudes towards personal health and grooming start at a young age and is carried with the child throughout his or her lifetime, you may want to rethink things.
Sometimes life and fashion involves a simple change of attitude to make all the difference.

Add this Sudo Jacket from SkipToMyLou to the items seen above and you have the perfect inside/outside designer fashion ensemble, see how easy that was?

One of C.R.L.T (recreation) college professors and my fellow alumni once said “Always find time to play.” It was her very personal mantra and what she taught to each of her students. Holly Bockus was her name and unfortunately she died this past year, but even in sickness, she held true to the belief that if you play hard, you will live large. If my college days taught me anything, it was that there are many ways to use and interpret the things that you learn. Holly’s message was not only about finding time as an adult to do the … Continue reading

I was reading a conversation on Facebook that a few of my friends were having and as an early childhood educator, I often have to stop myself from responding because I do not want to say something inappropriate. It is not really my place to say so, even though I want to. I simply nod my head and say perhaps I will discuss it with them at a later date. Via www.birthsource.ca Discipline is one of the those touchy subjects for me, it always annoys me when people say things like, ‘I wish I could slap my child just this … Continue reading

I often hear parents say that they just do not have the money to do a great deal of the activities that they would like to with their children and I think that is just a bunch of hogwash. There is nothing that you cannot do, if you put your mind to it. While it may not be exactly the same as what you envisioned, the alternative is sure to be pretty close and your child will be pleased just because you tried. It does not matter whether you are talking about clothing, jewelry or accessories, every designer will tell you that the best children’s fashions are created with classic designs, because they will withstand the test of time. For as long as I can remember, I have always preferred the darker tones of purple and green, however, lately, the softer colours of yellow and pink have been getting a great deal of my attention. I am filling my world with vibrant “happy” colorful things and I am excited about it. Kids should live in a world full of colour and while I do not like yellow and rarely buy it for myself, I do often buy it for the little people in my life. I found some adorable products on Kids Product Directory that scream yellow and I … Continue reading

I am committed to recycling, replanting and creating compost as part of my contribution to sustainability. It may not be a huge effort, but it is my own personal attempt at helping save the planet. Today while loading up the recyclable box,I noticed that I have a considerable amount of toilet paper roll ends. I never noticed this before, my family uses a great deal of toilet paper and while we use recycled toilet paper, I felt that I had to mention it to them. I politely asked them to consider using a tad bit less, whenever possible. Putting all … Continue reading
